Greta Scacchi

One of the many children and young people to whom Joyce gave drama and speech lessons, was the international TV, film and stage star, Greta Scacchi. Famous for leading roles in The Player with Tim Robbins, White Mischief with Charles Dance, Heat and Dust with Julie Christie and The Innocent with Harrison Ford, Greta has always attributed her success in the acting industry to Joyce Grove, who she refers to as ‘a great and very patient teacher’.

Greta says, “I feel proud and privileged to have been asked to be the patron of the Grove Garden project and am very happy to support the initiative in any way I can. 

I have very fond memories of Joyce and I know she would be very pleased to know that her wish to provide a safe, secure and pleasurable haven for the elderly and their families was being honoured”

  • Previously a Head of Wardrobe at various West end theatres and for UK tours.

    Venues include The Young Vic, Shakespeare’s Globe, Regents Park Open Air Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre. Shows include Dreamgirls, Upstart Crow, Let it Be, The Man in the White Suit and Half a Sixpence. A keen gardener who would like to develop Grove Garden as a regular events space for the elderly community.

Judith Pratt

    Judith Pratt is a Research Professor at the University of Strathclyde, specialising in Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Judith’s research team focus on understanding the biology of factors that increase the risk of developing mental health conditions and how this can inform new therapies. She has secured grant funding from a wide range of sources for research and mental health. Judith is a mental health research ambassador for the charity MQ and engages in a diverse range of public communication activities.
